Madrid, May 7, 2024 – ODILO, the Spanish edtech that enables all types of organizations and institutions to create their own Unlimited Learning Ecosystem, has been included in the World’s Top EdTech Companies 2024 ranking as one of the top EdTech companies in the world in 2024. This ranking includes 250 firms and is compiled by the U.S. magazine TIME, one of the most important and influential publications in the world, and Statista, a global data and business intelligence platform.
Let’s analyze the top positions in the ranking. 9 of the first 15 companies are specialized in digital learning solutions, suggesting that the mix between technology and learning is here to stay.
Within the ranking, ODILO is positioned as the first Spanish company, occupying the 43rd position, followed by other national firms such as Smartick, SimSkills, Genially, Game Learn, ABA English, Lingokids. On the other hand, American companies dominate the list with more than a third of the 250 positions.
One of the criteria evaluated in this ranking is financial strength. The Cartagena-based company, which in 2022 closed the largest financing round in the Edtech sector in the history of Spain for a value of 60 million euros, is one of the favorites in national, European,, and now international rankings.
It has been included among the 100 European companies, only 6 of which are Spanish, with the greatest potential to become a unicorn according to a list recently compiled by Viva Technology and GP Bullhound with contributions from some of the world’s leading investment funds such as Accel, Eurazeo, NorthZone and Partech. It has also been selected for the third consecutive year as a candidate to become one of Spain’s unicorn companies. The list, published by the newspaper Expansión, is based on consultations with leading Spanish venture capital funds and business angels.
The company has offices in Spain, Chile, Colombia, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Philippines and Brazil, and is present in 54 countries. It has more than 360 employees and more than 170 million users worldwide.
Another criterion taken into account by TIME’s listing is the impact on the sector. “Our model seeks to work with the organization to give it the digital ecosystem that users need. It is not a standard service, but we are a platform that allows us to create a solution for any educational need. In addition, we work a lot as a white label. Therefore, many users know the platform of their company or institution, but are unaware that we are behind it,” says Rodrigo Rodriguez, CEO and founder of ODILO.
