Transforming Education in Latin America in a Conversation About the Future of Learning
On September 5th and 6th, ODILO participated in the VIII International Congress on Education in Colombia, a transformative space where, alongside other educational leaders and experts, we shared ideas, experiences, and solutions that open new opportunities for the future of education in the region.
In this space, we not only had the opportunity to present our solutions for Latin America, but also deepened relationships with key figures from various countries and explored new possibilities for collaboration to drive education forward in the region.
A key presentation: “Public Policies to Improve Literacy and Close the Digital Divide”
This panel, moderated by Edward Valderrama, Director of Government and K12 Business at ODILO, was one of the most relevant moments of the event. We were joined by María Teresa Zulaica, Coordinator of Educational Platforms at CEIBAL in Uruguay; Kelvin José Corimanya, Education Manager for the Loreto Province in Peru; Mónica López Castro, Deputy Secretary for Quality at the Cali District Education Department in Colombia; Agnes de León Chacón, Vice Minister of Education in Panama; Juan Pío Flores, Telecommunications Manager for the Regional Government of Loreto, Peru; and Nery Enrique Casa, Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Education in Honduras, as panelists. They made it clear that although the challenges are significant, there are great opportunities to boost access to technology and knowledge.
Through CEIBAL’s case study from Uruguay, we showcased a clear example of how our digital learning solutions are a powerful tool for transforming access to knowledge and improving educational quality, adapting to the needs of each institution and government.
This allowed us to engage in conversations with several government leaders from the region, including Panama, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, and Peru. They expressed interest in understanding how our solutions can help them overcome current and future challenges in their educational systems.
High-Level networking and collaboration opportunities at the VIP Breakfast
Networking spaces, such as the VIP breakfast and executive lunch, were crucial for strengthening relationships and generating new collaboration opportunities. During these gatherings, participants had the chance to exchange ideas more informally, laying the groundwork for joint initiatives aimed at promoting digital education in the region.
These discussions further showcased ODILO’s proposal and opened the door to new strategic partnerships with the goal of transforming current educational models and preparing Latin American students for the challenges of the future.
Discovering Bogotá
To conclude this enriching event, we took the opportunity, along with other attendees, to explore Bogotá and enjoy some of its most iconic sites, such as Plaza de Bolívar and the La Candelaria neighborhood. These moments of cultural exchange helped strengthen relationships in a more relaxed setting, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration among all participants.
This event allowed us to reinforce ODILO’s commitment to education in Latin America, marking the beginning of new opportunities for collaboration. As we continue working towards a more digital and inclusive future, we are convinced that together we can close the digital barrier and provide all students with access to quality learning.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at this event. Let’s keep driving quality learning forward!
